Punctuation

What the fuck
What the fuck.
What the fuck?
What the fuck!
What, the fuck?
What? The Fuck!
What the... Fuck!
What the? Fuck.
What. The. Fuck.
What: The Fuck.
What! The fuck?

It's been pointed out that we insert the word "fuck" in a variety of places where it's meaning is contextual. I just thought I would wonder exactly how flexible the meaning of the phrase is:

What the fuck

No punctuation. Generic expression of exasperation. The "whatever" only less so. Often abbreviated WTF

What the fuck.

Like (1) above in exasperation, only questioning the basic sanity and fairness of the people being spoken to. Also as in "what a mess."

What the fuck?

Matters have taken a bad turn, either "How could this be happening?" Often abbreviated WTF?

What the Fuck!

As in "what do you think you are doing." Expression of anger or rage. Often abbreviated WTF!

What, the fuck?

As in "Who, him?"

What? The fuck!

Puzzlement followed by a dramatic realization that matters are much worse than could have been imagined.

What the... Fuck!

I left the stove on.

What the? Fuck!

I thought I was parked here, right next to this "Tow Zone" sign.

What. The. Fuck.

Since Most. and Worst. are now passing out of fashion in favor of "Fail" this is getting long in the tooth. It's when the adults arrive and see the children have been trying to bake something, with a rather loose sense of following directions.

What: The Fuck.

Just ask anyone who has a large mortgage on their house.

What! The Fuck?

At that moment where you wonder how bad it is on the way down.

[As you can probably guess, I am sick to death of hearing this.]
