Catastrophe for Privacy in the Senate

It seems likely that almost all of the amendments to improve the dreadful Protect America act are going to fail. Retromunity is in the bill, the amendment to strip it out just failed 31-67.

Someday again... because it has already happned... the President's personal lawyer is going to ask for your telecommunications records. He's not going to have a warrant. He's going to get them. And there will be no consequences for this. Because that's what the Senate just said, that if the President breaks the law, they'll just change the law, retroactively.
